Finally my sister Teri has a Blog. Now she has a place she can share all kinds of photo of her family, and a place she can tell all of her great stories. I hope she will keep it up. 

Is it going to hit us? Well, so far they keep saying that it is going to track north. It still going due west. That’s almost right at us… Funny thing is, most people are giving little attention to this storm. We are all hurricaned (can this be a verb?) out!! 

Well here we go AGAIN!!! Hurricane Jeanne is predicted to hit sometime Sunday. What is it about hurricanes hitting on the weekend? I am tired of sitting inside with nothing to do……

Well, even though I studied a total of 45 minutes for the test, I still managed to get an 88%. Whew…I will never do that again!!!

This is advice that I give new nursing students:

• If it’s not worth points, don’t waste more than 2 hours on it.
• Organize a study group (if you haven’t already), but don’t spend so much time with them that it cuts out on your reading time. The study group will never replace reading.
• READ, READ, READ…. READ all that is assigned on your syllabus. When you read, visualize what’s going on.
• There is “real world” and then there is “nursing world”, always chose the “nursing world” answer on the test.
• Memorizing was for A&P. Don’t waste too much time memorizing anymore (you can a little bit, but not too much).
• If you don’t know the answer for a question on a test, and one of the options is “green, leafy vegetables“, pick that one.
• Nursing school is also a creative writing course.
• ABC’s (airway, breathing, and circulation) first, then Maslow’s Hierarchy.
• The left testicle hangs slightly lower then the right.
• Buy a NCLEX Review Book (I recommend “Lippincot’s Review for NCLEX-RN”, by Diane M. Billings), and start reviewing now. It will help you test better in school and some of these questions may show up on tests.
• BE ASSERTIVE IN CLINICALS!!!!! If you don’t ask questions, and seek out experience, the nursing staff will think that you are not interested. This is especially important, when you are in rotating in the field that you think you might be interested in.

A study conducted by UCLA’s Department of Psychiatry has revealed that the kind of male face a woman finds attractive can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle. For instance, if she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine features. However, if she is menstruating, or menopausal, she is more prone to be attracted to a man with scissors lodged in his temple and a bat jammed up his ass while he is on fire. Further studies are expected.

Did you know that you can register to vote on-line? I was on John Kerry’s site today and it had a link to register to vote. I am already registered, but I changed my status from Republican to Democrat right from that site.

I am a nursing student at St. Petersburg College, College of Nursing http://www.spcollege.edu/Hec/. I am also a world class procrastinator. Tomorrow I have to take a test for my psych class that I have yet to study for. Because my best friend Shane (http://justshane24.blogspot.com/) told me that I needed to update this information, I have been spending about 2 hours on this. Thanks Shane!!! You are enabling me!!!
