Pet meme
My very first meme challenge…At least one that I responded too. Thank you khadijateri!
1. What is your favorite type of animal that you have had as a pet?
I’m a little more partial to cats.
2. What is the strangest/most different name one of your pets has had?
Vote for our cat Yarmulke once again. Our neighbor Bill named him because of the unique dark marking on the head of the otherwise all white cat. We also have a cat named Lucifer, but the name isn’t real fitting due to the fact he is (pardon the pun) a gentle pussy cat.
3. Describe something bizarre that one of your pets has done.
My dog Mya tried to dig up a cat that we had buried in the back yard. Yuck!!!
4. Have you ever eaten dog biscuits? (or other pet related products?)
According to my neighbor Kathy, I used to go to her house and eat her dogs food when I was a kid all the time. They ended up having to hide the stuff. Mind you I was 2 or 3 at the time.
5. Have you ever let your pet sleep with you?
My beagle Mya sleeps with me occasionally. She has her own baby blanket that she pulls over herself at night.
6. Do you take your pet on vacation with you?
No, Uncle Tony baby-sits.
7. Have you held memorials for your pets?
We have a grave yard full of pets in our backyard.
8. Have any of your pets worn clothing?
One time Mya curled up to take a nap in the clean laundry pile. I called her name and she popped her head up from the pile, she had a pair of underwear over her head.
9. Do you feed your pets before you feed yourself?
Yes.
10. Does your current pet resemble you physically or temperamentally?
temperamentally, stubborn and lazy…

I’m A Quitter…Or At Least I Feel Like A Quitter
I don’t quite know what I was thinking at the time, but I thought that with graduating, starting my new career, working two jobs, studying for and passing my state boards etc… That I could handle taking two classes this summer. Now I am so far behind in both of them, I have to drop them. What was I thinking?

26th Annual Mooning of Amtrak, July 9th, 2005
To best answer the story of the birth of the Mooning tradition, refer to the Sunday July 11, 1999 edition of The Orange County (California) Register newspaper, and the article headlined as, “Full moon over Amtrak keeps Laguna Niguel tradition alive”, as follows: Twenty years ago (1979), at The Mugs Away Saloon, a K.T.Smith told his buddies he’d buy a drink for all who would run outside to the rail road tracks and “moon” the next train, which many did. The mooning tradition has prevailed, but there is no longer a volunteer to buy free drinks for thousands of “Mooners”. Many many thanks to: The City Council of Laguna Niguel, The Sheriff of Orange County, OCRRA (owners of the rail right-of-way), Metrolink Rail Agency and of course, our beloved AMTRAK, for their tolerance and contemporary open-mindedness.

Kristen R.N.
Effective June 9th, 2005 I am officially a licensed registered nurse in the state of Florida.
New Job
I started my new job this week. I’m still in the “classroom/training/trying to keep my eyes open through another boring video on IV tubing” stage, so I have yet to even see a patient.
I went up to my floor and met one of the nurses who will be my preceptor. She seemed really nice and from what I could tell, had a good sense of humor.
This is what I know about my new job: I work on the gynocology floor, so that means all my patients are women and for the most part are “walkie talkies”. Pay starts at $19.00/hour. I am working 3-12 hour shifts per week (36 hours per week). I will have a preceptorship that will last about 2 months.
I still work for “Major US Airlines”, and it might not last that much longer. Only time will tell…
